Born out of the social justice movement in 1976, LifeLong Medical Care has grown into a trusted community health network grounded in the belief that health care is a human right. As we celebrate 50 years of impact, this year’s gala will help fuel the next chapter of LifeLong’s work and expand access to compassionate, community-based care across the East Bay.
Thank you for your partnership and support that has made this milestone possible.

As we look forward to this celebration, we also face new challenges—policy changes and systemic barriers that put thousands in our communities at risk of losing access to healthcare. With your help, we will continue to provide compassionate, patient-centered care, and to boldly advocate for healthcare for all.
We hope you will join us in April, and if you are able, consider making a year-end gift to help ensure LifeLong’s can continue providing life-changing care.
What we recognize now as a network of health centers spanning the territory from Rodeo to East Oakland began as a storefront clinic organized by the Gray Panthers in 1976 to provide care for underserved older adults. That storefront evolved into the Over 60 Health Center, and the rest is history. From these beginnings, LifeLong has grown into a broad and responsive community health network centered on supporting our patients and communities. We care for more than 50,000 people each year through medical, dental, behavioral health, and social services.
